    Description

    This is a wooden casting pattern for a foundry to use to make castings of brass, bronze, cast iron, etc along with one casting made of aluminum.  The pattern reads BALDWIN LOCOMOTIVE WORKS PHILADELPHIA USA 40.  The aluminum plate is made from this pattern.  The plates measure 8 1/2 inches across.  The overall measurements of the board are 27 inches tall and 12 inches wide.  It weighs 5 pounds. There is a tag on the back that reads as follows: RUGGED LOGGING & MILLING CO. Pat. Pend. and has a phone number.   I am not sure when this wood pattern or the casting was made as
